I was doing some work in Bromsgrove yesterday and made a point of popping over to bus station when a 144A was due. I saw 4 of the departures and all were quite well loaded when leaving the bus station. I also noticed a good 5 or 6 passengers transferring off the 144 onto the 144A each time too. Talk...

I wonder if Diamond will keep the transfered drivers on a 'Johnson's routes rota' or just route learn them on all the other Redditch garage routes.

Does anybody have any recollections of a minibus operating a full route 144. I seem to remember catching a 144 early one Sunday morning from Worcester to Birmingham years ago and it was one of the Mercedes Varios. I'm sure it was 505 but my memory may be playing tricks on me.

Currently on the 11:05 417 from Worcester to Ledbury (30th April).. I'm only passenger on the bus. Talking to a driver, he says that quite normal now for the late morning 417 out and back. I wonder how seriously it was discussed as to if First could have least ran to Longbridge with subsidy and terminate at the Longridge Island or Rail Station. Would have saved a lot of hassle. But money talks I suppose.

Yes, someone I know who works for Centro / Transport for West Midlands mentioned they have had considerable involvement in this. I've no knowledge of figures though.

Sad to see Johnson's go from the local bus network but totally understand why they want to protect their core coach business. I've been on several Johnson's Coach trips and they are very high quality and professional I always found. Will miss them on the 149 / 150A from Worcester to Redditch though....

I stayed on all the way to City Centre and we were 11 mins early at Sixth Form College and picked loads up. Ironically we ended in town right time because there was a stand off between 2 cars and van on Spetchley Rd right at school time and we got caught in it. Was a right mess!!
