Re: Sun and buses at Bromsgrove and Droitwich 8 April 2017

Thank you very much Tim for the informative account of the Vario's in service. It were these that really encouraged a younger self to pursue a career in the industry and they firmly remain as my favourite minibuses. The Varios certainly have character, I recall that they consumed vast amounts of re...

Darts 41502 and 42893

Whilst waiting for a bus at St George's Square, Barbourne this morning I noted Potteries based Caetano bodied Dart 41502 (LK03 NLD) heading towards the City centre on suspended tow. Is it at Padmore Street for repairs?

Re: Sun and buses at Bromsgrove and Droitwich 8 April 2017

Some great photos there, Tim. I see 'PEZ' several times a week and often wonder for how long it can carry on. When new, am I right in thinking that their intended lifespan was about 7 years? If so, it's continued regular use is quite remarkable although I guess it's present route is not particularl...

Sun and buses at Bromsgrove and Droitwich 8 April 2017

Have just received my old camera back from cleaning and servicing today so I took a few random 'proving' shots of buses in the sunshine at Bromsgrove and Droitwich. PEZ 3058 ex Midland Red West/First Midland Red O814 Vario (52546, S546 SWP) continues to soldier on with Clearway on the Charford servi...

Re: FMR Fleet Movements

I put the same question to him when I finished tonight, and yes, he expects to be busy when they arrive due to a short MOT. He also used a selection of 4-letter words to describe the engine type used in them. And the gearbox. And the kingpins... You get the picture! On the othe hand, these are the ...

Does anyone know the date when 30935 (VX54MTE) moved to Kidderminster depot?
I didn't, but PSV Circle news sheet 917-4-135 states 30934 Withdrawn and 30935 to Kidderminster in 04/16.

Main site updated with this date. Let me know if you change your mind... Thanks. According to PSV Circle News Sheet 856-4-137, Coalville (Ashby Road) depot closed 26/03/11 with vehicles transferring to either Burton or Thurmaston garages. There is also mention that a small number of buses wer...

Re: Stevenson on 303/4

It recall it was Petes Travel who ran the 303 between First's stints. They came off the servile when they went through their financial problems, not sure of this was voluntary or they were chucked off by WCC. Thanks; you have jogged my memory, I seem to have it in mind that there were rumours about...

Re: Visiting Buses at Worcester

In the back of my mind was the memory of Leyland DAF, and the possibility that some engines were built under-licence as "DAFs". - ( - TIM ? :D ) Some of our older forum members will remember that Midland Red were "always" experimenting and fitting non-standard engines and gearbo...
