Tim, you are asking a lot if you expect ADL products not to rattle.........

Re: Citaro woes.
Thank you Tim for the kind words re the Wythall RCL. It, along with many of the rubber suspension equipped BMMO's puts many of today's buses ride quality and handling to shame. The RCL at Wythall is one of the few remaining on its air suspension (rear). When we fished it out of its glass cage in the...

Re: Ledbury services.
Nearly did exactly the same in Ledbury in 1989 driving the D10 (4943) on our way to Swansea because some prat had parked badly. Don't think I'd have been too popular if I had piled our prize possession! It was an entertaining long weekend in which we took the D10, CM6, RCL2219, our 1930's Leyland Fi...

Re: Random Photos from the Back of the Shed
No wonder you disappeared of the radar for so long today taking photographs. Hope that you enjoyed your driver assessment session today in 5956 and didn't find it so different to the modern 'stuff'. S23's are very forgiving so it'll be an RCL next time and then to sort your redundant left foot out p...

Re: Transport Museum Wythall 27 August 2018 pt. 2
As one of those who was there virtually from day One and going through all of those photographs I am amazed at how much was achieved in those early days. The very second hand caravan that served as our mess room for those first years (and occasional overnight dosshouse) was very much a health and sa...

Re: Bus Fest Gaydon 19 August 2018 part six.
Hmmm, a pang of guilt here! As the guardian / maintainer of the BMMO fleet at Wythall I often have the difficult choice of whether to send out several Midland Red's to an event or keep them back at the Museum for people to pay to come and see them, and on Open Days ride on them. We are after all a c...

Re: Public Enquiry
Having just spent over an hour sat in a very dead (and hot) Diamond 42 this afternoon between Kidderminster and Bromsgrove (outside Parkgate Nurseries) I'm not best pleased with them (neither were the rest of the passengers........).

Re: Transport Museum Wythall 28 May 2018
Somewhat jealous of Adam having a ride in 234, I often reflect that we should have had a Leopard saloon at Wythall. They do have a tendency to go like 'pooh off a shovel' (and have a delightful exhaust bark). Shame that their steelwork turned to brown powder at a goodly rate (and so did the BMMO own...

Re: Summer Holidays
Time to get one of the CM6's off the patch outside and run some trips down the M5 / A30 to Cornwall for a day out. Oh, sorry, we (or more accurately our predecessors) bought the best one in August 1975..............Happy Days

Re: Derelict BMMO vehicles
A typical line up of Nationals, none of them leaning the same way........... When SD had their first allocation they soon learnt to wait for the air suspension to fully level before driving out of the garage where they had been 'feeler gauge' parked the night beforehand!
