Re: Diesel locos at Shrub Hill

I still can't get used to those power cars being anything other than on each end of a rake of coaches! Agree it was a strange choice to use for freight haulage especially as HST's are high geared for 125 MPH running. I can understand the preserved 'Blue Pullman' set as it is used with updated Mark ...

Re: Kidderminster Depot

Former Diamond Bus Volvo B7 30858 which started life at Redditch as a Red Diamond vehicle has moved back to the West Midlands and is running from Kidderminster Depot. The vehicle is in Preston Bus livery with Diamond North West Fleet names. Ironically on Saturday the vehicle was in Redditch on the ...

Re: "Operational Issues"

Once again it is down to drivers not reporting for duty, or in my case, being off sick, and I will be for probably the next 4 weeks. Sorry to hear you are unwell, hope you make a swift recovery! Years ago, bus enthusiasts like you and I with, what were then, PSV licences were on the books as part-t...

Re: Diesel locos at Shrub Hill

Mid morning today, Friday 16 February 2024, Rail Adventure HST power cars are seen working through Shrub Hill platform 1 from Long Marston to Wembley with a rake of wagons and 20007. The train called in at Kidderminster sidings and 20007 is thought to have been delivered to the Severn Valley Railway...

Compulsory purchase.

Thanks to Gordon Smith for noting that the land adjacent to the Padmore Street bus wash which used to be the Vinegar Works railway line now has a compulsory purchase order in place. If you scroll down the attached document there is an easy to follow map as per link below; https://www.worcester.gov.u...

Re: Shrub Hill canopy refurbishment.

Meant to post these shots last month! The shuttering has been removed from platform 2 and the southern 1B end of platform 1 now that the reinforced plastic roof-lights have been fitted to the canopy making for a much brighter atmosphere for intending passengers. (Click on the photographs and they wi...

Yet another test run by 'Hydroflex' unit 799201 today, Tuesday 13 February 2024, from Long Marston to Kidderminster and back with another journey between Worcester and Kidderminster earmarked for later in the day. The 'Thunderbird' rescue locomotive on standby today was 37884 'Cepheus' seen in the S...

Re: No Salt Road buses on the 144 today.

If bustimes.org is to be believed, the last Merc in Nimrod livery has now been withdrawn. I always thought it was a stupid branding anyway ! -- almost as bad as Wandaward and Wendaway !! It related directly to the famous resident, Sir Edward Elgar of course, who lived at Marlbank on Rainbow Hill fo...

No Salt Road buses on the 144 today.

Why are there no 'Salt Road' liveried buses on the 144 today Wednesday 24 January 2024? According to Bustimes website at 14-15 today, one worked the morning S2, another is on the 44, yet another on the 30 and two are working the X50. Has branding gone out of the window under Wales and West managemen...
