Re: Showbus 17 Sept. 2017 part eight.
Thanks DD12, have now worked out that I had two unopened messages! I've replied by email to you. Regarding 5919 it had been in the ownership of of Robin Woodcock in Weymouth until his sad demise this summer. It has now been acquired by LTHT (Leicester Transport Heritage Trust) for continuing preserv...

Re: Showbus 17 Sept. 2017 part eight.
Can confer with Tim's notes, as a previous owner of ONN571P; I bought it straight out of service from Trent. With its 'tall' ratio diff' it could get up to 62mph but had a matching thirst! Its 'Wobblebrook' bodywork whilst looking good externally had several underlying defects........

Re: Overhauls and Repaints
Adam H and DD12 are both correct, two yearly repaints appeared to be the norm in BET days, not so in NBC era when many of us can remember 'poppy pink' livery on D9's in Leicester in their final year or two. The COF principle that was 'agreed' for Midland Red (other operators had different agreements...

Re: Wythall 3D Scanning Event Sunday 16 July 2017
The D10 is in the sick bay! At present most of the lower saloon is stripped out and being refurbished by Mike Jordan, it also has a severe cylinder block coolant leak requiring either the engine to come out or removal of the nearside floor which given its poor state is probably the best option. Your...

Re: Wythall 3D Scanning Event Sunday 16 July 2017
DD12. You should have come and introduced yourself to 943KHA, I was about all day, somewhat scruffy as usual! The two D9's in the graveyard are both ex Obsolete Fleet, 5341 and 5360 (which was once a favourite SD bus of mine). Both are in use as stores and have been heavily cannibalised to keep the ...

Re: Sunday 30 April 2017 at Wythall part three
The D5B and the S will hopefully be moving out of the Scania Hall at the end of this operating season (along with all the other vehicles) to permit re-roofing and insulation of the side walls (provided the pennies keep rolling in). Quite where we are going to store this lot for the duration.......bu...

Re: FMR: Refurbs and Repaints
Prefer 'WENDAWAY' as on 5956 but if someone when painting it on left a letter off the beginning it became rather smutty..
