Probably reflects the drop in revenue more than anything else. As advised, people are not going out and are this not using buses. No Local Authorities in any area - as far as I know - have offered any additional funding to support services, so operators must cut or go bust. The MD of Stagecoach West...

From Monday 50% of staff at Worcester depot are being sent home. Meanwhile, there are still significant numbers of people using buses for non-essential travel. There have been dozens of reports of people - mostly OAPs - getting on a bus and just riding around and getting off again where they started...

Gloucestershire Council have now also agreed to pay for concessionary cards to be used 24/7.

Indeed. Some major problems on the horizon. Stagecoach West will move to a Saturday timetable on Monday, for one week only. The following week will be an emergency timetable that is currently in the planning. Expect drastic cuts to city routes.

I think coach operators are going to be hit very hard... No schools, no tours, no private hires. What is left for them to do?

Chatting to a NatEx driver on a 444 to London last night. He is on a 2-day week starting on Monday and some of his colleagues have already been given notice of redundancy.
