Re: Worcester's DD usage.

I imagine to preserve the punctuality of the S23 service that another bus was dispatched to cover it whilst 35158 ran the S3 school service late. I ran the college service in 33404 on Wednesday afternoon and not even half the seats were full so I would assume a single-deck vehicle would have coped q...

Re: 33404 - Midland Live view ALX 400

33404 has been plagued with a few issues lately but is otherwise still very much in use in and around Worcester, mostly on school services. I drove it on Wednesday afternoon and aside from a four-speed box, drives very well.

Re: New round of disposals and transfers-out.

The Darts had originally been earmarked for transfer to a depot in the Glasgow area but that has since fallen through so they have since been sat all forlorn and disused, much to my dismay, at the bottom of the patch amongst the scrappers. In the meantime, their work has instead been carried out by ...

Re: 66695/97, and 67652 ?

Unfortunately, 67652 isn't here at Worcester and hasn't been since it transferred to PMT. The fact it's been 'spotted' here is nothing more than a technical anomaly. 66697 is currently off the road with severe engine issues and is the current 'big project' now that 67639 is moving under its own powe...

Re: Worcester Optare Solo's

All of the original Worcester Solos are now withdrawn. 53051 was the last to be withdrawn, on February 6.

The only minibus allocations at Worcester now are the 'Wyes Moves' Solos, 53061-2, and the two examples fitted with seatbelts, 53802 and 53207.

Re: New round of disposals and transfers-out.

All three Darts have indeed been withdrawn (unfortunately) and are parked adjacent to the wash facing the garage with ticket machines removed. The last day in service for all three of them was Tuesday, January 15. The short wheelbase StreetLites seem to have replaced their workings on the subsidised...

Re: Worcester's DD usage.

This had indeed operated the 1750 Service 363 to Ryall. It was some nice little overtime for me as I had agreed to stop on and cover for the late running of the S51 as residents of Welland and beyond were eager to catch the connecting minibus at Hanley Swan due to the current road closure and divers...

Re: FMR Fleet Movements

The VIN plate on 69453 states that its 12150mm in length, which is just shy of 40 foot. This contrasts our Plaxton-bodied Volvo's 11951mm (just over 39 foot) and our Enviro's 11860mm (just shy of 39 foot). So yes, this batch of B7RLE's are indeed slightly longer. Fortunately though, as these boast t...

Re: FMR Fleet Movements

We're apparently having 12 B7 Volvos from Leicester... These are the 59 plate ones originally from Bristol. This was also my educated guess. 69435-6, 69449-56 and 69459-60. All examples of this batch sport the Wrightbus Eclipse Urban 2 body. As much of a spectacle as it would have been to have witn...

Re: Sun and buses at Bromsgrove and Droitwich 8 April 2017

Thank you very much Tim for the informative account of the Vario's in service. It were these that really encouraged a younger self to pursue a career in the industry and they firmly remain as my favourite minibuses. I was particularly intrigued by your reference to the reliability of the injectors. ...
