Re: Service uplift (Cheltenham to Gloucester)

Well, Cheltenham to Glucester should be a good bus corridor but this is really impressive. It's a much better frequency than when I rode on an FLF on the 549 in Bristol Omnibus days circa 1979!

Is it increased loadings or more drivers recruited that has brought this about - or both?

Thanks DD12. Both suggestions make sense!

Re: Worcestershire On Demand (June 2023)

Interesting. Two strange things to me about this service: - Why are two operators providing the two vehicles required? Could the County Council not contact one operator to provide both? I don't understand the sentence "There’s a flat fare of £2.50 for all journeys per person, with additional pa...

Re: National express

I tried the 20 on Bank Holiday Monday 1st May, taking a morning trip from Selly Oak to Bromsgrove and back. I had two pleasant runs on an Enviro 400. The southbound journey was quiet, but the 1038 from Bromsgrove was rather busier. Between Marlbrook and Rednal there were 14 passengers upstairs. The ...

Re: National express

A post on the WestMidsBus forum suggests that the 20 could be operated by double deckers . Look out for the tree lopper ! 8-) The 20 in its current form (QE - Cofton Hackett) is interworked with NXWM service 48, West Bromwich - QE, which is normally double deck. It seems that this interworking will...

Re: Brown and cream Gemini double-decker.

Green Bus have some ex-Lothian Volvo/Wright Geminis, some of which I think may still be in Lothian livery. Could it have been one of those, maybe on a schools private hire?

Re: Redditch bus routes under threat

Warwickshire County Council have announced today that the 247 will continue to operate at a reduced frequency, and will be rerouted at the Redditch end to replace the 67: - https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/news/article/3180/alterations-to-bus-services-in-the-alcester-bidford-coleshill-and-kingsbury-a...

Re: Johnson sold to Diamond

Looks like Adam could be travelling around the North East corner of Gloucestershire again soon. Diamond have deregistered all of its Warwickshire tendered services after 23 July, including most of the services taken over from Johnsons at the end of May. Stagecoach are taking over all of them, except...

Re: Johnson sold to Diamond

I saw Enviro 200 YW68 OVX in Shirley on the last X50 to Birmingham, and unless it was unexpectedly replaced before the end, it would have been the final Johnsons bus in service.

Re: Johnson sold to Diamond

The other main difference between the 150A and the 149 is that the 149 doesn't go via Greenlands and Lodge Park in Redditch. Just runs direct via Woodrow instead. I see that Diamond's 150 operates over a rather different route in Redditch to Johnsons' 150 - via Woodrow, Alexandra Hospital and Mappl...
