EV Buses in Oxford
The first example of the 55 ADL Enviro400 EV going to Stagecoach West at Oxford depot has now arrived. This is fleet number 80002 (SK24XRC) and arrived on Wednesday for driver training duties. Another 4 are expected over the next few days, with the remaining 50 being held back until there enough to ...

Re: Starburst (UK) take over Crowngate.

Re: At last a vehicle at Worcester that isn’t a Streetshite
I know a few drivers at Worcester that are very happy to see the return of an E300 to the fleet. I don't know who does the vehicle allocations at Worcester these days, but I suspect they have just become everyone's best friend!

BSIP+ money (Tewkesbury improvements)
Using BSIP+ money, Gloucestershire County Council have issued contracts to improve a number of evening and Sunday services in the county, with the Tewkesbury area getting a significant slice of the pie... Re: Funding for Worcestershire Transport
...I haven't seen any published figures but how financially viable is Worcestershire County Council, are they in a similar perilous state as Birmingham? I may be wrong but First Bus do not seem to have a particularly good working relationship with Worcestershire County Council judging by all the la...

Re: Cheltenham Festival 2022
Cheltenham Festival is almost upon us again. I'll be at Cheltenham Rail Station on the Monday greeting the loan buses as they arrive from Stagecoach depots across the country, then I'll be driving Tuesday to Friday. PVR is expected to be the same as the last two years, at 80 to 85, all of them doubl...

Re: "Operational Issues"
A number of years ago, First abolished all spare driver duties in the name of efficiency. They said at the time that the cost of having a bus sat in the garage due to no driver was less than the cost of having a spare driver if they were not needed. Some may argue that this is a clear example of Fir...

Re: Service uplift (Cheltenham to Gloucester)
Both. There is still a shortage of drivers, but it's no way near as bad as it was this time last year.JustinTyme wrote: ↑21:47 Saturday 16th December 2023Is it increased loadings or more drivers recruited that has brought this about - or both?
