Nuneaton Depot
Coton Road, Nuneaton.
- Opened by Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited
(BMMO — Midland “Red”) on 21st December
1921, with an initial allocation of about 12 vehicles.
- Expanded with the addition of an extra bay by 1925.
- Closed and demolished for road improvements in 1960, with all
staff and vehicles moving to a new site at Newtown Road.
Newtown Road, Nuneaton.
- Purpose built by the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus
Company Limited (BMMO — Midland “Red”) to replace
the site at Coton Road.
- In use from 9th May 1960.
- Officially opened on 1st June 1960, with an
allocation of 64 vehicles.
- Company renamed to Midland Red Omnibus Company Limited
(MROC) on 29th March 1974, with a depot allocation
of 66 vehicles and approximately 223 staff at this time.
- Depot control passed to Midland Red (South) Limited when
the Midland Red Omnibus Company Limited split up on 6th September
1981.
- Midland Red (South) Limited acquired by Stagecoach in late 1993,
and trading as Stagecoach Midland Red.
