Nuneaton Depot

Coton Road, Nuneaton.

• Opened by Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (BMMO — Midland “Red”) on 21^st December 1921, with an initial allocation of about 12 vehicles.
• Expanded with the addition of an extra bay by 1925.
• Closed and demolished for road improvements in 1960, with all staff and vehicles moving to a new site at Newtown Road.

Newtown Road, Nuneaton.

• Purpose built by the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (BMMO — Midland “Red”) to replace the site at Coton Road.
• In use from 9^th May 1960.
• Officially opened on 1^st June 1960, with an allocation of 64 vehicles.
• Company renamed to Midland Red Omnibus Company Limited (MROC) on 29^th March 1974, with a depot allocation of 66 vehicles and approximately 223 staff at this time.
• Depot control passed to Midland Red (South) Limited when the Midland Red Omnibus Company Limited split up on 6^th September 1981.
• Midland Red (South) Limited acquired by Stagecoach in late 1993, and trading as Stagecoach Midland Red.
