Cannock Depot

• Purpose built by Midland Red Omnibus Company Limited (MROC) to take over as the operational base for the vehicles and services acquired with the business of Harper Brothers (Heath Hayes) Limited in 1974, and cross-boundary Birmingham services temporarily operated from Cradley Heath depot following the transfer of service to the WMPTE in 1973.

• Opened on 4^th February 1977, with operations starting on 7^th February 1977.  Heath Hayes depot at Hednesford Road, and Cradley Heath depot at Forge Lane are both closed at this time.  Initial allocation was seventy-eight vehicles, all of which were fitted for one-man operation.
• Control to Midland Red (North) Limited as company headquarters when the Midland Red Omnibus Company Limited split up on 6^th September 1981.
• Midland Red (North) Limited privatised and sold to Drawlane Transport Group Limited on 27^th January 1988.
• Drawlane Transport Group acquired by British Bus Group Limited.
• British Bus Group Limited acquired by the Cowie Group plc on 1^st August 1996.
• Cowie Group plc renamed to ARRIVA plc on 6^th November 1997, with the Midland Red North operations becoming ARRIVA Midlands North Limited soon after.
• ARRIVA Fox County, ARRIVA Derby and ARRIVA Midlands North merged to form ARRIVA Midlands in 2003, with administration duties moving to Thurmaston at this time.
