The Role of the 'Bus Inspector. Perhaps we should be more precise and differentiate between the terminus inspector and the travelling inspector... Anyway, one certainly shouted ''Tickets please''.
My question to you is this: does the rank of INSPECTOR belong (a) to platform crew ie driver/conductor or (b) management?
Best regards,

Red Devil.

Management. In my opinion drivers who get the role of inspector try to catch drivers out doing exactly the same things as they did when they were driving. I can never understand why solid union minded drivers take the role of inspector and thus work for management. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with management or unions but the two roles are on opposite poles. Just my opinion.......

It can be a problem, although I have never worked in the bus industry, but some of the best managers I have come across elsewhere were former union activists.  Probably it had something to do with being able to see and understand both sides which is no bad thing.
